Rotational maths

This is my extension maths task. We had the numbers 12, 24 and 8. We had to put them into a shape that could be turned but still look the same. But we had to put the blocks in so that when you rotate it the blocks also look the same. We used lots of maths equipment but we got there. This is the one we came up with.

Koru art

This is my koru art. My dad is the big green koru in the art because he is the tallest in the family. My brother is second and he is just taller than my mum who is underneath. My brother is orange and my mum is red. I am the smallest so I am at the bottom in dark blue. We are in a row but my dad is leaning over top, then my brother and then my mum. They are all covering which means they look after me and protect me.

My special place

My special place

Turning the bend, entering the main road.

Looking at the boat coming in.

The disgusting smell of caught fish drifts into my nose.

All of the humongous houses on the edge of the cliff are coming into sight.

You can just see the cousins looking out the window.

All of the sounds comes into my ear when mum turns the radio off quietly.

The sound of the seagulls and waves make this place feel warm and welcoming.

Parking and going up the lift makes me feel more excited.

Getting off and standing on the deck with my family.

The heat from the sun scorching my shoulders.

When you look out onto the harbour it is Just an amazing view.

Yep, this is the place.

Street art

This week we had a reading task. We had to find some street art and do something like it for Christchurch. I did some artwork with Liske. We worked really well together and got it done. Our quote is 'beauty is on the inside not always on the outside.' Then we drew half a skeleton and half of a normal face. The skeleton represents the inside and the face represents the outside.
